It took a while but one showed up, a 530 Coleman. Even my neighbors over the fence had to speak up to be heard while it was running. A few questions about it here from some of you old hands, ummm, not old, you know what I mean. Aside from being a bit loud, it got really quite hot while running, did I over pump the bugger? It came to with the cleaner not working and the nozzle plugged, when I inspected the cleaning wire it was folded up, I have been here before and got it nicely straight but is there replacements for such still available? Lastly the little roarer plate in the burner falls out when turned up side down, I would have thought it locked in place, the burner head looks to be pretty symmetrical so I am reluctant to try and adjust it.

    Thanks, Ed

Ed there are replacements but the price is outragious. I'll have a look seee at home and if i have what you need i'll send one off. PM with mailing address. Noise is normal and should be a fine example of why it's not one of my favorite stoves. It's is right up there though. the flame spreader ( roarer plate ) should fit into three small indents in the flame cone. if you do not see them then there is a problem and likely it is not the correct flame spreader.

Nice score on the stove btw. Ohhh; did it come with the Aluminium container. if so then you need a small thin carbon or stainless steel protector between the flame and the bottom of the pan. one of the problems with this design is that the aluminium cups melt if placed on the stove without enough water in them to absorb the heat from the burner.

Hi Lance, and thanks, will email you. No funnel, wrench, plate or the container. Not to mention I may have paid a little too much for it. But I wanted one of them, this or the 1942 job and I bid on a couple of each and got this one. The good part is that is seems to be in better than fair condition. The flame spread and and little tri plate look right, it fits right in the three holes, but you can jiggle it back out by turning it upside down and giving a bit of a shake. noisy little bugger, sounds like at least ten Hp. lol.

Okay Ed just squeeze the flame cone in to hold the flame spreader

    Hi Ed

By chance, on another thread this evening, I posted some 530 photos.
I will repeat them here for your convenience:

Once in its correct place, the top burner plate is very hard to remove.

Yep, Trevor, the very same one. Although not quite as nice as yours there, and I did see the other thread. Everything is correct but it sits in there loose. An easy fix if careful I am sure.

Damn, I don't know how I caught this stove bug on top of the lamp and lantern thing, my immune system must have been weak at the time.

    Regards All, Ed

    I have a theory, Ed

It is not just the collection of stoves.
It is the friendship / information / good humour / sarcasm / help / comradeship / zany outlooks on life / any interest is OK / Ross / the moderators that make this site unique and make it an urgent pleasure to collect as many stoves as possible.

All ages, experiences, different backgrounds, different places of birth are made equally welcome.

    THIS SITE IS UNIQUE!!

    Hi Doc

I got the 530 on eFray about 3 years ago from, yes you will have guessed it, the USA!

It truly is a well made stove and with a very clever, foolproof design.
I know you will probably have about 20 of them! I have 3 or 4.

Dang Trevor, I live here and I only have one complete one and a stripped shell of another! By the way that stripped shell of a 530, I got on Epray too, seller said it was in great working condition, lol. No burner, no fold out pot holder, cleaner gone from the generator, pump parts stripped, wrong cap, and burnt valve knob. All superbly photographed to not show any of the mentioned items. I got it around the time I found the CCS forum and asked what I should get for my first stove. Doc mentioned to avoid a military stove as a first one, I was too embarrassed to even mention my little 530 fiasco. With more experience under my belt I am also ready to laugh about it.

    Regards all, Ed

    Heads up here:

Lance offered me some parts if he had them for my 530 and subject to his rejection of the parts I have from that stripped 530 they can be had to who needs them, no parts charge of course. here is what it there is for use:

Fount in fair condition (no dents, shinny), the upright part that holds the pans (has one rivet missing). And lastly the valve and stem if badly needed, other wise I would keep that as a spare.

    Regards all, Ed
