Now there's a handsome naval rocket. A friend of mine made the mistake of putting denatured alcohol in one; He got 3' flames and so much pressure that it dented the stove top it was sitting on.
He showed up w/ fear in his eye (sans eyebrows ;) ) and just thrust it into my hands saying "here you take it!"
If that is anywhere close to the Coleman/Rodgers models, it'll run on petrol, Coleman Fuel (duh) but also I ran mine on kerosene, paint thinner, mineral spirits, never did do it w/ diesel, did wanna risk the stink.
Looks like she's in good running shape too. Nice score!

Exactly the same, Aaron - all the manufacturers had to build them to the same US military specification. They're Coleman/white gas/panel wipe fuelled - maybe even petrol/gasoline - I'll check...

As far as I'm aware, all the Bialaddin ones are dated 1954 - all mine are, anyway...

(edit) the decal says "clean gasoline"...

well, that being the case, I can tell you for a fact it'll burn kero w/out hesitation. The only dif (obviously  ) is that rather than it's own fuel, you need to use meths to prime it.

These stoves were designed to operate on any fuel which will burn. There are even reports of US troops during WWII using Brandy found in the cellers of French homes. Hell of a waste of good spirits but i guess if you are more hungry than thirsty a hot meal wins out. I strongly suspect they consumed more than wee dram of the spirits while waiting for thier meal to heat.

Hi all: I am stumped. What is the difference between the Aladdin military stove and the Bialaddin stove?? Is this a U.K. version of the U.S. Aladdin stove? Mike...

Bialaddin was one company contracted to build the M1950 aka (Coleman 536) Aladdin only made the M1942 and I believe they had nothing to do with the M1950. Coleman worked along with Aladdin to make the M1942 but not the M1950. Who knows why. Aladdin was more into lanterns maybe.

Here is an interesting Link about the history of Aladdin Company

    Cheers,
    Jeff

When did the Brits use the M1950 and did it have a number designation?
