I bought an Optimus 99 this week, but it didn't come with the pot grabber or the wind screen. Does anyone have one for sale by chance? I see where I can buy pot grappers on ebay for a couple bucks, but I don't know if they're too big to fit inside the stove.
For a windscreen, it's hard to beat the folding 5-inch windscreens from eBay. Shown in my avatar around my 8R. Mine was $5.50 shipped, with stuff sack. Basil
Congratulations @Dorraine Stanley on getting a 99. I think you'll like it. If a generic pot gripper is too big to fit, you can shorten the handles a bit. +1 on getting a windscreen, either a replacement of the original or one like @bbsteinle recommends. Or you can make one from a strip of brass or aluminum, as here. ....Arch

Welcome Dorraine, FWIW I still like your 8R for your needs. That said I did exactly as you. After I acquired 8R(s) I convinced myself, self !!!, buy the 99 !! that's the hot set up!! and i did... I second guess my thinking in hindsight. So you appreciate the site... you think we folks are great, good. Might I be so bold as to suggest you subscribe. Everyone is just cruising along above but, you see, while viewing your post i was scratching my head . When I need to "check on things" the catalogs are most helpful. Subscription gets you access to the manufacturer's catalogs, I could link to info and you could access it with subscription. That said, it turns out in this instance, although I did first find details in the catalogs, I also found what I / we need (for sake of discussion) in a set of 99 instructions, which you already have access to. Your request is re missing "pot grapper" 2059 Handle is in the diagram above and on the list. FWIW I'm +1 w/just getting generic pot gripper btw. "Windshield" is later mentioned (i'm unclear as to why?). The 99's Windshield 2097 is in the diagram above and on the list. That can also be referred to as a wind screen (looks to me like you have that but i'm not sure?). also the *Protecting shield 2463 is in the diagram above but not on the list? *protecting shield (2060) is what Optimus calls it (on the 8R parts list). It is a heat shield that sits on/over the tank (a barrier between the tank and the burner, to prevent overheating). Sorry if this is a dumb question and others already have this figured out but.. I am curious, do you have both of the shields shown in the 99 diagram above? The 99 **needs it's tank protecting shield and an Optimus replacement will not be not readily available (IIRC there may be 2 versions for the 99, if so either one will work. a home made remedy is doable as well). thx omc PS your 99 is **incomplete w/o protecting shield. you might review your transaction, if it was on ebay. tag @Dorraine Stanley

Basil, Thank you. Ah yes, I stand corrected. Just by that pic above I was not sure what I was looking at. Looking closely at mine and then at hers again, helped, me, doh! @OMC, thank you for the invite to subscribe. I will look into that. As for the shields, @bbsteinle is right, I have the protection shield but not the wind screen. I need to get my terminology right. lol Sorry 'bout that confusion. And a big thank you for that diagram!
