I didn't touch the bell today-working on a pneumatic grease gun was this afternoons project after work.

If your nipple is flat over the jet (the jet being the hole in the nipple) you don’t have a chamfer. Just sand and clean.

If it has a concave indentation in the nipple around the jet, then give it a light sand.

    Cheers

I'm going to agree with @Marc . Your flame looks just fine. The yellowish tips may well disappear as you burn more clean fuel. Even if they don't. . . Are you looking for a good hunting dog, or do you plan to go for the blue ribbon at shows?

As long as the stove runs, and can perform when I go camping and not have an issue. I will test it this weekend with some bouillon cubes.

Hmmm, that could be the problem. I think the stove will run better on white gas.

OK, sorry! Couldn't help it!

Others may have different opinions but that burn pattern would get me to look at the spreader positioning firstly.

The general combustion looks good, ie not overly rich apart from that quater, ie slightly too rich fuel/air to one side.

Hi, on this picture to me, this isn't normal, it seems to have 2 gas/flames burning where the flame is yellow and the 3 others are nice. Can you show us by pictures the nipple spraying gas and also the burner heat to see if it is flat all the same around the burner.
We could not see it on the first pic or it is ok now. ???
Note- to zoom in and out with your phone, place 2 figures on the screen and open your figures to zoom in.

@8R Pete. when you said earlier there was no change when you moved the bell, did you mean the orange flame moved with the bell or did it maintain the same clock position relative to the stove body?

@JP2 that was with the original nipple, the later images are with a new nipple, but Pete will have had to move the flame plate for the replacement operation so we can't make direct comparisons with the outcomes.

The orange flame Did Not move with the bell. It has stayed in the same location-on that left side of the 4 parts of the flame spreader.

How much did you rotate the bell? You said earlier that you moved it a little.
If you rotate the bell, and the yellow moves you know then that it is the bell and/or the flame plate.
If it does not move with the bell then I suspect a dirty jet hole.

I moved it a little-no change-I moved it back so it is tight-still the same. Less orange/yellow but still the same-I will run it out and put fresh fuel in there.

@8R Pete can you do an alignment check of the burner?

If what you are saying is correct then the fuel is coming out at the wrong angle comparative to the spreader.

Do you have another burner you could try in the fount that you know works ok?

Ok, I do not think you know what I mean.
Turn the bell half a turn, then a full turn, then back.

I took the flame spreader and it was slightly warped so I tapped it lightly with a ball peen hammer and the orange flame is almost non existent.
