Dear All: I purchased a 111t from ebay, but the flame have some yellow ,and more pressure I am not sure if this is normal or not? Very strange flame...can anyone tell me what is happening with the 111t? best regard
Is this one of the $54 specials? I have one too, and it required a serious cleaning. Weird old fuel in the tank. I used carb cleaner and lots of soaking the tank and various parts. Also, the filler cap was leaking pressure and causing problems. I replaced it with a spare cap from an Optimus 8R. Now she works great. I have used it numerous times in the Colorado mountains upto 10,000 feet. Does my coffee fine. Tim
Just saw your pictures, yes that is how mine looked at first. Cleaning and running with fresh fuel cleared it up. Tim

Hello, Sefa, If these stoves are as nice as the seller says, then I think they are a very good buy! Good luck, and have fun with one of these, if you decide to go for one! Take care, and God Bless! Every Good Wish, Doc Mark
I think there might be some variation on what you may receive. I think HTG's was missing the draft shield? Mine came in great shape with all parts including the spare jet and restrictor for alcohol. At $54, I think its worth a go. CB
Mine came without the draft shield as well and no restrictor or extra jet. Also, my flame cap is not as clean as the one pictured. Other that that, it has been fun. I was teaching the boys how to use it last week at Kenosha Pass (10,000 and max temp of 15 all weekend). They thought the flames during priming were way cool. Tim
Hi Sefa, I can't recommend him yet but I did place an order just moments ago, he had four on, now three, (item number 190088465412). Hey I have a friend in Turkey I have lost track off, Olgac Over, heck of a bright and personable young man, last I heard he was attending Cambridge in England. He should be about back in country now. His parents sent him to a Lions International Youth Camp in Alaska and he stayed a summer with us when he was 21 years old. Regards, Ed
At $54 its a good buy, with or without the windshield (they are not that good to be honest, a bit of tin foil around the stove works better) and if you burn alcohol, they can be thirsty on a trip. If it burns kerosene or coleman/whitegas without problem just use it, they are a great stove. You can get spares easy enough in the States, just enjoy the burn chap, the 111 is almost my favourite stove 8)
We live in SE Aurora. I am an Asst. Scoutmaster in a local Troop. We did our Winter District Camporee last weekend up there. The name of the Camporee was Artic Blast. Wind was as high as 53MPH and temps down to 6F. But the 111T I brought fired up every time. Cooked a lot of coffee and hot chocolate on the stove. Even a little stew for myself Saturday night while the boys were doing tinfoil dinners. Strangely, my Optimus 8R was more 'cranky' up there. I had much more difficulty getting it started, so I used the 111T most of the time. Tim
I just lost an Ebay auction for a Primus 111B. After reading this thread I decided to take a chance and ordered one of these USMC stoves. Now I feel much better Cheers, Manny
