Hi everyone, I recently bought an Optimus 111 (original paraffin only) off ebay. It has a non standard filler cap that seems to be from a primus stove, there is no SRV, just a screw that seals a hole in the cap. I'm not convinced this will hold pressure (can't test it till I get a new pump leather) and ideally I'd like to have the correct cap, so I wondered if anyone here has a spare filler cap/SRV they would be willing to sell? Many thanks, Dan
I was just going to send you a link to one on eBay buts its gone already. they get listed for $10 buy it now on a regular basis.
@noise_boy There is an new Optimus 111 filler cap on UK eBay at this moment. Unfortunately it is in Noway so the post and packing is expensive. It would cost you a total of about £17.
@noise_boy Hi Dan, Optimust here, The Base Camp, have a new Tank filler cap/ srv part no,2044 price £ 14.95 + post. Maybe a fallback if you cannot locate one to suit your budget. Best to you. Optimust. Alan.
Thanks @Optimust , that's what I went for in the end, I had a few other bits to order from them anyway. The guy I spoke to at base camp was doubtful about reconditioning a used cap as you can't be sure the srv is set as it was originally. I got the stove quite cheap so I was prepared to have to buy a couple of bits to get it going. The cleaning needle was shot also. The jet seems good though now I've cleaned it out!
@noise_boy The safety release valve (SRV) in the fillercap is serviceable, but you need to take notice of where the SRV nut is so that you return it to the correct setting. Going back in time here on CCS, there was discussion about whether these were serviceable or not, but folk around here do this task often. Cheers Tony
