I have a Coleman 382 handy Hot Plate which I am presently fettling. It is from the 1930s (Coleman Toronto). The fuel valve has been removed (photo) but I am unsure if the large hex nut is also removable...I have never seen this type of tank/valve arrangement. I have posted on CCF but no answers yet. Does anybody have an idea if it is removable? Is there a tube into which the metering rod goes?...I assume so.
Another question would be that if the large hex nut is removable, is there a corresponding hex nut on the inside of the tank, and the two nuts hold the nipple in place in the wall of the tank?
Seems I forgot to post the "after' pics. The stove is porcelain green...nothing I can do to improve that.

Yes this was answered. The two fittings are threaded. Large one threads into tank, smaller one acts as a compression fitting for the valve. Been a while.
