Any idea what this is? I did not find any markings. I believe it smelled like kerosene. Perhaps a tent heater? No markings I have found yet.
This is a fuel tank and burner for a kerosene heater. Perfection was the major manufacturer in the US but there were many companies that made these. I haven't seen that protrusion on the top of the flame spreader before so don't believe this is a Perfection but instead another brand. The whole assembly sits inside a heater shell something like this: Ray
Agree missing the heater chimney, and it isn't uncommon for items to be sold wrongly assembled. I received a Dietz wick lamp direct from the US with the wick winder upside down, and modified to enable it.
Not sure if the OP will come back to see this but I believe the burner pictured above is a Nesco Deluxe, a Perfection clone. Here's one from eBay I spotted today:
