I bought a 123r a few years ago along with a Sigg Tourist, and it came without the smaller brass windscreen / potstand. I'd like to try cooking with a smaller setup (and a modern pot) but can't seem to find a source for the windscreen... ebay sellers seem to have no parts lately and I don't want to buy a whole stove just for the screen. (Yeah, I know I could make my own but I'd like a matching screen :-) Anyone know a USA source for them, new or used? And/or, have one they are willing to sell or trade...?
Beaker, Send me a PM with your E-mail and if you have Pay Pal I will send you an invoice. I have a windscreen that was to be for a stove I was slowly combing parts together for. Have since decided to canx the project. Tomorrow I will try to post a photo here. Welcome to the forum. Chef BC
Just an option for the archives (I know it ain't Svea, but I also know Svea windscreens do not exist on their own, and the flat is interesting...): https://m.alibaba.com/product/60749670031/Ultralight-Equipment-Titanium-Metal-Wood-Camping.html
Alan, are you saying that they fit the stove? How do you set a pot on it? 123 windscreens come available now and then. Some stoves get parted out, like when a tank puffs up.
I don't know; 108mm is 4.25 inches in diameter. Sounds about right, but I'd need to measure my 123 and it's out in the shed. I think the theory is that, as a cylinder, it's strong enough to hold a pot, but the more I look at it, the more that looks like spilled dinner. But maybe as a starting place, if you engineered a ring with allen head pot supports and riveted the whole thing together, with a fitted ring on the bottom, you could end up with something that looked rightish?
He meant Katadyn, here. They don't seem to have the windshield listed, but they do have a phone number listed and say to call if you don't see the part you need. ....Arch
My apologies for not being more specific. I last ordered from them in mid 2017. This was the message I had received: "Steve, Thank you for your email. The cup/pot is available through our office, $8.00 each. The handle is also available, $4.00 each. Shipping costs will vary. Anyone answering will be happy to help.
