hi again thanks for the replies made a new gasket for filler cap still is spurting any info on how to check the tank for pressure leak had seen a post on here before on how to check the tank in hot water but cant seem to find it again THANKS
Empty stove of fuel. Close the cap. Dunk a cold/warm stove in hot water. Hold your finger over the 'jet/nipple' hole. As the stove warms up, the pressure will build. There should not be any bubbles. Ken in NC
What Ken said. I had a chance to check one of mine. A 242 cap gasket should work. Taykit cap needs to be cranked down good and tight.
HI again thanks for the replies I did the cold stove hot water test saw one tiny bubble forming around filler cap pulled it out of water wiped it off dipped it again small bubble formed at filler cap that must be the leak will make a new gasket maybe thinner than the one I just made will just a little pressure escape make the stove sputter THANKS

Without checking, I don't think a 242 gasket will work, is going to be too thick and probably too large of diameter.
I did check, 242 gasket is pretty thin, more so than 220 size and is pretty close on diameter. Might need trimmed a bit. Sheet viton is too thick, at least what I have and it is a pain to split a gasket crosswise. Old Coleman parts has gaskets. Even a small leak at the fuel cap will ruin performance on a Taykit. They are really finicky to get going but once you do they are a lot of fun. The gap between the coils will also affect performance. Gap should be about .045". I use a feeler gauge to measure the gap then a flat blade screwdriver inserted between the coils and twisted gently to open the gap, pliers to squeeze at the top of the coils to close it up. I often have to preheat twice to get them up to temp. Use denatured alcohol to preheat, not CF, it will keep your stove cleaner. When running right the flame should be all blue, only slight traces of orange.
Taykit instructions stated the gap should be the thickness of a dime. USA 10 cent piece. Viton sheet is available 1/16 thick. Also known as .. Fluoroelastomer.
