    Rickybob,

Thank you for that! Apparently, my 'fair bit of searching' left something to be desired.

Fun and frivolity in 11 to 32 working days...

    Thanks for the welcome!

I should come clean and admit I'm not a collector, I'm an enthusiast!

As a former backpacker, and still a motorcyclist, I've accumulated a few stoves. Because I'm old and I got them when I was young, they are classics. They get used.

I used to collect Coleman suitcases, but I entered a 12 step program and got better. I kept a couple choice ones and all my lanterns.

    Hi @TheSandMan

Most of us started as users of classic stoves.
Then we signed up to CCS and saw the thousands of stoves that were produced over more than 100 years.
We then said to ourselves, "Ooooh! I like that stove. I must look for one."

    And so the collection begins!

@TheSandMan try getting it off the bay of evil. I got 3 off there. No problems. Takes weeks to show up but never had problems.

Thanks to all for the welcome and advice. Must. Resist. Accumulation.

@AngryDaddyBird, I did place an order on e-bay with the vendor @Rickybob recommended, so the SVEA will soon see more use in lieu of the 400.

I guess I am still confused about the cost issue of the BD cap. His website, in the US, shows the 123 cap costs $33. Not sure how much the shipping was when I bought it.

    @Rickybob, @Murph

The screw in the middle of the cap is indeed an adjustment mwechanism for the flame. See here:

    https://classiccampstoves.com/threads/silent-cap-for-svea-123-korean.35652/

    And here:

    https://classiccampstoves.com/threads/testing-a-korean-silent-burner-on-svea-123.35624/

    The seller says this:

“ With this adjuster on head, the users can make the stove optimum condition by turning the adjuster left or right with screwdriver.

This is Patented and the biggest strong point of this product.”

    Cheers

    Tony

@BradB if I remember correct shapeways has cheaper shipping to the USA $4.99 and Imaterialize was triple the cost to ship $15. I materialize was also $2 more for the mini cap $35ish with legs so shapeways ($33ish)is the way I went. Hope that helps.

the issue I had with the BD cap was the postage cost - it was outrageous - bearing in mind I would probably get hit with import tax on top it was just too much

Yes, hopefully BD will find another printer to service the USA market in addition to the one in the EU.

Is there one of these Korean burner caps available for an Optimus 45? If not, is there any kind of silent burner that will work on an Optimus 45?

Hi @Curt A the Optimus No.45 1.75 pint, and the stoves with 2 pint capacity tanks, which are fitted with multi-tube roarer burners cannot be fitted with silent adaptors.

If you want a quieter burner you need to exchange the roarer for an equivalent “silent” burner. Optimus produced the No.45 model stove with a roarer burner, and the No.48 model with a silent burner. All other parts are identical.

Here is an advert for Indian? Manufactured silent burners which should fit 1.75 and 2 pint classic brass stoves:

PRIMUS STOVE SILENT BURNER X 2 PARAFFIN STOVE CAMPING STOVE KEROSENE STOVE | eBay

I have not myself tried these particular models, so cannot comment on fit or performance, but they are cheap.

    Best Regards,
    Kerohile.
