Hey, Arch, What's not to like about a $54 111T??!!! That's an outstanding bargain, and well worth the price, even if a little work may be required. If I didn't already have several 111T stoves, I'd spring for one myself! Pretty cool to see all our Mates getting in on that fine deal, though, isn't it??!!!! Hi I bought two of those myself . Wonderful stoves. Mine came with a restrictor. Fired right up. Anyway, the 111T are not that common in Norway (to my knowledge) Great stove for the money. In fact I like it as much as the 111 kero. Regards
Hey All, Yes I purchased one 111T for me as well. I have already a 111 (don't the type) roarer burner, using kero. It is taking approx 1 month for the cargo to arrive to Turkey although via airmail I think pilots of the airplanes are getting too old. I hope I wouldn't be dissappointed once I receive the stove I purchased. I say this because with all my insistments the seller did not send me any photo of the stove that he would send to me. Hi jenspeter 123 You can get as many as you wish of the 111T's from Finn Hjelmerud, Nittedal, Norway, postage will be much cheaper for you, Finn will for sure send you a picture of the stove - honest and nice chap to make deals with.
Speaking of this Ebay item, has any of you named above received yours yet? I haven't and sent a couple of emails asking when it was shipped, no answer. Even by the slowest shipping method mine should have been here by now. Ed

I've had the same experience. No stove yet and no answer to my message to the user. I figure maybe he waited until the last sale in the bunch -- Sefa bought on 3/6. That would make them due sometime this week. If others on the forum hadn't bought stuff from this guy, I'd be getting worried. ....Arch Note: I sent this before seeing Robert's post. MIne came without issues a while back. If I recall, I asked for a tracking number but never received a reply. Does not seem to be in his character to skip out so I would just hold tight. Might be on vacation or flu or something...? CB

Looks like I paid for mine on Jan 25 and received it Feb. 3rd, so that is around 10 days total time for the transaction. Mine is outside boiling my bicycle chain in cleaner (water and simple green). Tim
Hi All, This morning I got an email from the seller, he said he had "issues" with some earlier stoves and went back and checked them. He said he sent mine on the 13th, that would 11 days after it was paid for. I was glad to hear that it is on the way, delay or not. Regards, Ed Edited here: I sent four emails to the seller and mentioned I was concerned I hadn't received the stove yet and that my three emails had not been answered. As I said I am glad to have heard that it has been sent. Such a return email goes a long way to the buyer, earlier would have been better. Lets all check in when we get the stoves. I kind of wonder what the Issues were with the other stoves now. But it does sound like he wanted to be sure all were in order.

Hey Bought 2,got one. Last one was bought 2.March. After that I have not heard anything. The first one arrived in perfect condition after about 14 days. Well, we have to wait and see if anything will arrive at the Post office Regards
Hi Men, The stove arrived today. I'm guessing I got mine first because I'm closest to the seller. I gave it a quick cleanup and it fired up easily. I had a bit of yellow flame at first but after a few minutes it was purring along pretty well. It came with the wind shield and restrictor tube. The flat olive drab paint is fairly well done. In a few small scrapes you can see the original Optimus blue color. Its not perfect, but for $54 dollars and shipping who could complain. What really impressed me was how well it throttled down. You can really simmer with this stove. Now I'm ready for the April Photo shoot. Hope your stoves arrive soon. Cheers, Manny

Hi stovies I just received my $54 special that I ordered a few weeks ago. I got it delivered to a Californian address and and got it special delivery via an Air NZ aircrew! Saved me heaps of postage and only will cost me a couple of bottles of wine. Now to the stove. It is in fairly well used condition and I can smell the repainted deep green case. The burner unit has a windsheild fitted with huge cracks all over it, pretty awful really. I will post a photo of this thing - I can't beleive how badly it is cracked all round. But the thing runs pretty well on white spirits, yet to try it on kero. The flame is pretty blue and well balanced, a bit of yellow but I think it just will be old fuel burning off. I notice that the tank feeder pipe and burner unit are off skew by about 10-15 degrees and I will carefully bend that back in line. It is bent so far the the throttle key stops the tank hinging out flat - it is left raised bu 10-15 degrees or so. Apart from that I think it is OK. Does the standard 111T come with a windsheild or is this an add-on? This 111T doesn't have the heat output of my 111C but I will try it on kero and see how it goes. The Marines have given this 111T a bit of a hard life but I am sure I can tune it up to it's former glory. It now lives on happily in my collection.
My 111 showed up today as a "blue" case one, rather nice as the case is in fair condition. But the pleasantry last only a short time, The valve shaft is quite bent and the stove is in poor condition. Here is a quote from the seller on Ebay; "These are surplus from the USMC, we go through, test them and make any repairs needed, then run at least 2 tanks of fuel through each one before we ship it." Since this stove does not hold pressure at its state when I got it, I have to conclude there is no way "two" tanks of fuel were burned through it. There would have been a lot of telling soot Not tested yet but did get the valve stem to straighten some but not perfect, I will post what I find after a bit. Hope they get delivered to you others soon. Regards, Ed Edited here: Well she does run now, had to work on the shaft some as there was a pressure leak at the jamb nut area, a little more fettling and tighten up and it holds. Mine also arrived today. Newspaper it was packed in is dated March 14, 2007. Not real fast shipping for an item purchased March 2. I'm happy with the quality, though, so I'm not going to make a big deal of it. I, too, noticed the "new paint" smell. It fired right up with white gas, and ran great in my (short) test burn. I can see why so many people like these stoves. ....Arch
