@Tony Press @Harder D. Soerensen @JP2 @CW Thank you. The flame appears to be stronger than my other 111T. I'll have to do a comparison burn soon
Howdy, @Blueflame111 , I love the 111, in all it's variations!! It's one of those "do everything" stoves, as long as you don't mind carrying the weight. My memory is a bit fuzzy on this, as to which one I carried, but a long time ago, SB and I spent some time in Yosemite National Park, and the stove in my pack was either a 111B, or a 22B. Yes, either would be heavy, but hey, they worked a treat!! We climbed up the back side of Half Dome, after dumping our packs at the bottom, and that was some adventure!! I'll have to dig out the photos to be sure, but, whichever stove it was, worked perfectly: bacon and eggs, and also pancakes, stews, soup, and lots of other good eats were cooked on that stove, and lots of hot water boiled for tea, or hot chocolate!!! That was some trip!! Back to your stove, I see that, in the flame shot, you swapped out the regulating wheel for the earlier version, instead of the "multi-tool" on that came with your stove. In truth, I don't care much for that later wheel, and also swap them out for the earlier ones!! As a tool, the later ones are lacking in strength, and I once blew out the end of one, trying to remove the stick jet from another 111T stove!!! FYI.... Thanks, again, for sharing your 111T with us, and God Bless! Every Good Wish, Doc
Hey Doc, Thank you for sharing your story! I've am also not one to worry about the extra weight of these stoves. To me, the extra weight is worth the enjoyment and satisfaction I feel when using these stoves out in the wild. In fact, I brought my older 111T on a backpacking trip to Badlands National Park this past November. I cooked bacon, sausage, hash browns, boiled water, etc And it working like a charm every time. I may have to bring my 22 next time just to see the look on everyone's faces as I pull it out of my pack and fire it up as they all take out their 3 oz canister stoves ha! As far as the regulating wheel, I know it is hard to tell from the dark photos, but it actually is the "multi tool" wheel that came with the stove. I didn't swap it out. I will say that after using it for a bit, I think I also prefer the older style as well. It is good to know that the newer style ones aren't as strong though! @Doc Mark
