A couple of weeks ago, it being Fall, and the mosquitoes being gone, I thought I start having a meal everyday along side a different lake, and with a different stove. All of these spots are public access,,, some of the stoves are very common, some or them not so much, but it was a chance to actually use them for their intended purpose. That was my thoughts,,, I’ve a Optimus/Primus* 71 I’d laid out for today, but with the wind gusting over 20 miles per hour, Trangia it was. (*Optimus tin with a Primus 71 in it)

The Coleman 425C is the stove my folks used when I was growing up (in MN). It was well used and they never got rid of it, but I let that specific one slip away not knowing how much it would mean to me today. @Haggis Sounds like you could get a little snow soon.
Tomorrow night and Saturday they say,,, once there is snow enough, my daily walks will include a small fire for my tea and lunch. I still fetch along a small stove on occasion even in winter...
