Was gifted this great (now around 81 year old) Coleman 500 marked D/1939 from @MrAlexxx After a good cleanup, some elbow grease and a bit of paint, I lit it up. It was running way to powerfull with no simmer - Got some help from @presscall who could tell me the jet should be around 0.34-0.35 mm. Turned out that mine was more than 0.5mm. Again Alex helped me out by sending me one of the jets from his own 500’s! - Now it was running wayy to meager. I then put in a thick copper washer between the jet and the generator tube. Now THAT helped - but still not there completely. Again Alex and John offered some advice as to screw in the pricker rod deeper into the regulator (like the pricker rod on a PX lantern). I managed to loosen the pricker rod. It was all the way to the bottom - so I removed 2.5 mm at the bottom of the rod. My goodness that made yet another difference!!! Now I am very satisfied as it is now both powerfull and holds a great simmer. Thank you very much HV Alex and John P. You are both top notch here in generousity and helpfullness. I hope to be able to repay you someday/someway!

Speedmasters are cracking stoves right enough. An oversized jet on one is something I’ve never encountered, but that’s one of the oldest. Glad to help. John
Very nice Harder. Everybody I know who has one of these stoves speaks highly of them. I’m still looking for one. Actually I have an eye on one just waiting for him to make up his mind that he’s ready to part with it.
