Hi everyone, new to this site On the passing of my father a few years ago i cleared out his shed and came across a few of these primus stoves as he called them. I think there's 3 or 4 of them and a stove in a long square box which has a refillable gas cylinder in it?? Lots of spare parts too. Will post pics later as I'm in the process of cleaning out my own shed where they are stored. I was just going to toss them out till I came across this forum. Scotty
Welcome @Scotty351. Looking forward to seeing what your dear Dad left for you. You probably have a handy source of cooking kit for power cuts.
Yes welcome! We are all addicted to pics here. And it is the best way to get help with any issues you find with your stoves Ivan
Well found his stuff at back of shed. Still looks pretty shitty but here are some pics. I know he used them when he was fishing at weekends..... There a couple of old camping stoves as well.....
Looks like you have some interesting things there. The brassie with the panring looks like a Primus 5. I've had one on the kitchen counter for years which I do morning coffee on to start every day with a blue flame. That should clean up well. Stoves in tins are always popular. Not sure what your's is but should be easy to restore. Not sure about the Primus propane or the stuff that looks like Molotov coattail bottles but the kero burners are worth keeping. Ray
Found another one in a bag like the other one minus a leg but both missing legs ate there, they seem to be soldered on? Your right it's engraved Primus no5 No ID on small one but has small fold out legs and as I just found out still full of fuel.......
The last stove shown looks like a British RM 1 pint stove: 1970s RM 1 PINT STOVE Best Regards, Kerophile.
Some interesting stuff there. The bottled-gas one has been featured here in the past, and my guess is John (Presscall) has the knowledge on that one, if I recollect aright.
@Ed Winskill @presscall Probably a Wee Dex. 1949 Wee-Dex butane stove An interesting collection, unmarked '96' go with George as RM.
Cheers mate, yes didn't know what it was but lid of box does say WeeDex on it there are another 2 bottles with it. Didn't realise they were that old.....still a cool single burner cooker.
