I mentioned here on the forum that I’d like to have an affordable Primus 210, and in keeping with the “What can I do to help” spirit of this forum, @Harder D. Soerensen contacted me. He then had a look for Primus 210 offerings nearer his neck of the woods. Next thing I know, I’m contacting someone in Norway, then waiting a bit over 2 weeks for my stove to arrive.

The surprise in this, beyond the kindest of Harder, and the patience of the seller in Norway, was the burner head that came with the stove. I couldn’t see much of the burner head in the seller’s photos, so in full greenhorn mode, I neglected to ask for more photos. Anyway, the stove arrived with a Radius burner! It seems to fit, but I’ve never seen this before in any photos.

Is this a modification that is done? Is it common?

And thanks again Harder for your time and effort, and for starting me on another stove adventure.

Using my phone,I can't see if it is norwegian made -- if so, that Radius special silent burner is common on the stoves named Standard from the same factory.
And that burner really need the windshield when used on a small stove.

    Thank you.

The tank is a Primus 210, the burner is marked “Radius made in Sweden”.

It came with a Primus windscreen, but it will not fit the Radius burner.

Some one replaced the original roarer burner with a rare Radius silent sometime in the past. You got a bonus with this deal. Enjoy!

    Thank you...

    Interesting indeed,,,

I see in one of the links a Radius silent burner on a Primus 96, so it seems this is a thing that is/was done with charming old stoves.

I agree. I've yet to find a stove with this special burner and would be tickled pink with yours.

Glad it arrived - and yes - that is indeed a surprice. Not many of these burners around with the top cap (and in that nice condition).
I never saw it in all of sellers pictures either.
I bet someone would be happy to swap you a Primus 210 burner for that of yours ;-)

    I like the box!

Thank you again for your help @Harder D. Soerensen ,,, If I had seen this Radius burner before I bought the stove, and not knowing what it was, I would have probably passed on it. There are those times though, when ignorance and inexperience work in our favor, this was one of those times. Feeling pretty lucky just now.

Not having encountered one of those burners ‘in the flesh’ your photos capture the details better than the usual Stove Reference Gallery perpective. Thanks! Fired up would be good.

    No - no yet ;-)

Just like to repay a bit of this unique friendship and spirit in this forum, when I can.

    @Haggis
I wonder if some of the other windscreens would fit here?

Høvik Verk made the same burner too, but they didn't mark their burners Radius and Made in Sweden. So this burner is made by Radius in Sweden.

All Høvik Verk stoves I have seen with that sort of burner had Radius branded burner but Høvik Verk made burner cap - I assume they bought the stock pile when Radius quit marketing that burner.

@Haggis most I've seen has homemade windscreen - I made mine from a 250ml Red Bull can in late Optimus style and it works very well.

Looking closer I think the tank looks like the ones made by Høvik Verk for Primus.
