I have a 96 with a duff vapourising tube and I note that the Base Camp Manasulu 96 uses a burner very similar to that on my Optimus 00 - presumably to avoid the dreaded duff vapourising tube problem. Coincidentally, Base Camp have a ruck of Optimus 00s for sale on a spares or repair basis at ?12 a throw.

Offering the 00 burner assembly up to the tank of the 96 I can see that it is not out of scale and new set of supports could easily be fabricated to allow use of the larger burner. The problem is, of course, that the 96 tank has a female thread and the 00 burner does too.

If I knew the sizes of the threads involved I could turn up an adaptor (or several if anyone else wanted one). Can any one advise me?

Thanks for that. I don't believe in re-inventing the wheel and my skills don't extend to lathe cutting non-standard threads - so I'll PM him and join the list.
