Coleman 413G grates

I posted on the Coleman Collectors Forum, but got no info. Perhaps I will have better luck here.

I have two Coleman 413G stoves. The October 1965 has the straight pattern grate, where the October 1974 has the circular pattern.

What year did they change?

Had a quick look and I don't see anything. Coleman 413E Wichita Kansas seems to be the only stamp. I thought maybe it was marked in the same place as your G model. I'll assume pre Oct '65.

Hi Ray.
The ‘Guide’ entry for the 413E doesn’t refer to a date stamp or location for one, but a timeline for the ‘E’, courtesy of the Guide is:

Production run 1954 to 1961.
Distinguishing 413E from 413D is the ‘submarine’ shape fuel tank - ‘D’ had cylindrical tank.
Earliest had bronze-coloured fuel tank.
3 slots for leg stops 1959-1960.
Retractable aluminium handle on the late production stoves (earlier had wire pattern).
Red, lantern-syle valve wheel (as opposed to the black raised pattern) for the last year of production.

Thanks for the help John. I have the retractable aluminum handle and a red tank with black control knob. I've never given much thought to the age of "modern" Coleman suitcases but it's still nice to know.
