For some reason the lantern does not work properly. But as you can see the stove works fine. This is a clone from overseas so i don't mind the minor intrusion in it's construction. lance
Well........... The fuel/air tube that is supposed to be under the valve has one tiny hole in the end of it and two holes (sometimes one) near the top of it. The tiny hole in the bottom admits a regulated amount of fuel, regulated by the wire that slides up and down in the tube, and the larger hole or holes near the top admit only air or air with fuel vapor mixed in. That would be how the fuel/air tube works when it is installed in a lantern fount. In your setup fuel would be going into both the little fuel hole and the large air hole at the same time. As you probably know Coleman made a couple of models, the 237 being one of them and the Quick Light being another, that did not use a fuel/air tube. They both have a single wall fuel pickk-up tube with not metering rod. But both of these require a preheat to start the lantern. Try preheating the geneator on your rig and see if that helps. Hey, Lance, HOLY MOLY, Batman, someone's been into our special parts stash again, and made a Bat Stove and Lamp!!!!!! Now, here I thought you'd use that tank to make some sort of a KAP stove, and look what you did!! 8) When you described that over the phone, I did not "get" what you had in mind. Of course, NOW I see it, and it's exactly as you described! Guess I didn't have my "imaginin' hat on" when I was listening to you the first time. Novel idea, and interesting, too. I'm still going to use the tank I kept to make a sort of KAP stove, but have yet to get 'round to it. The one time I DID try to give it a go, I buggered up one of the two parts I had on hand to make it happen!! One was supposed to go to Spudz, and the other for me. Who knows what will happen now that I've killed one of the two special parts that could have made it all come together??!! Good luck on getting your Bat Stove and Lamp up and running as you invision it! It will look great in the Bat Cave, and the I think that B-man will like it, quite a lot, actually!! 8) 8) Take care, and God Bless! Every Good Wish, Doc Mark
It's gotta be april fools... either that or he doesn't really know that the initial 2-3bar of pressure to make the lantern work simply isn't going to happen AD
once again we see the dangers of breathing Coleman fumes in inclosed spaces. the kids in the "hood" call that "huffing"
Lance - Why not use the original 242 lantern fount as a fuel supply for the 123? Just run the copper feed line from a tap in the 242 tank. That would give you the original lantern valve and fuel meetering configuration and the pump to pressure both appliances?
I think you read too much into my "thumbs" posting. That or you know, with first hand knowledge, what Luksusowa is. lance
I'll bet I can get it working. I will require only two things, six months time and ten cases of Glen Garoich 28 year old. If for some unforseen reason I am unsuccessful, I will return any unemptied bottles of the Scotch. If any of the stove or lantern parts are still identifiable I will happily return them as well. It is even smoother if you keep it in your freezer. Like your Tanquary Gin, at it's very best very very cold. lance
That's the differance between potato vodka, and that garbage made from grain. No aching head with spuds, but a death punch from grain. lance
