Hardly a camp stove and heavy on the wallet too, but nevertheless interesting.

    Hey, Jur,

WOW!! That thing's a real beauty! I'd spring for it, but the shipping would likely be as much as the stove costs!!!  Nice one, though. Take care, and God Bless!

    Every Good Wish,

That is a good price, and UK shipping would not be that bad,,,,,,,,NO,,,,,,,NO,,,,,,NO

I'd have to use some of the Tipi fund, but it looks a good buy

    Maybe Henry,

But how come yours has different regulator knobs (is the right one really from a 111 or does it just look like it?) whilst the French one's are the same?

Anyway, it has been sold already to a UK buyer ... When are we going to hear more about this stove?

............... Errrrrrm (mutter) .Guilty, as charged ,yer honour.
I can only say , in my defense... I waited 90 minutes after seeing Jurs posting ..
... couldnt concentrate , had twin visions of blue in my eyes ,sweating palms , palpitations, paced the room like a caged wild animal ,kept returning to the listing ,dribbled so much the keyboard suffered ,had heart palpitations , itchy skin , hyper ventilation , stood up , sat down , had 10 mins in a darkened room ,tried all sorts to distract my tiny mind .. washed the dishes , swept the floor , cleaned the bath , counted from 523 backwards ...lost the plot at 366 ...or was it 394 ??? ...... Hoping , even praying , that some good soul would put me out of my misery.....( I now realise , that youre a bunch of heartless b'strdz )....How can you let a fellow suffer so ?? Its inhumane .. I CRACKED ..Thought i was made of more solid stuff..I really thought i could resist ... just say NO..It was the twin adjustable silents that pushed me over the edge, those coupled with the thought of long rack cleaning needles , long stroke pump , a knob to hold on to whilst pressuring the ooooh so perfectly formed and delightfully central tank ... i had no choice , the price barely impinged on my (by then hovering )consciousness , ....I was previously unaware of my ability to ask questions in a foreign tongue.
In short , I was a man possessed , In lust , over the edge , Gone fruit loops , La La . spinning like id had a double dose of the best spirit alcohol going .Rationale ...straight out of the window .I simply had to end the unendurable suffering .... still thinking some kind French soul would push the B.I.N button , before my sweating digit pecked the question ..would you consider posting to the U.K ??.... The answer came back ...QUI ..
Let the cost of postage be resolved after the event ...still hoping a good samaritan would hit that button & end my suffering .. refresh page , wait ... refresh page .. wait .. please .. please .. someone press that button .. help me , get me out of this horrendous limbo state... refresh . its still there .... CLICK... done , ping .... e-bay confirmation .. oh what have i done ... why can i not rid myself of this terrible affliction ? I really thought i had it under control ...
My counsellor warned me about the possibility of regression .
I really thought i had it under control..... sleep , sleep, quiet , restorative sleep ...tomorrow is another day ....

.Note to self ....must really look at getting some professional help..
Maybe ill try that Bidnapping system that people speak so highly of :D
    >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>

The guy was a pleasure to deal with , lets wait & see what what arrives .

Nick ... brilliant description of the ebay stove jitters.

You captured the feeling perfectly, exactly what I went through when I bid on the Optimus 22 (except I lost the plot counting b/wards from 22  ).
If my experience is anything to go by, you'll feel tempted a lot less after your new baby arrives. After a score like this, you can take things easy for a while, I didn't look at another stove on ebay for a least a week, and it sure felt good.
Cold turkey my aunt Fanny, when your stove arrives you'll be able to resist the irresistable !

    Great score of the stove.

    c&p from e-mail correspondence

Hello ! sorry for my poor english ! i am ok for your proposition of 100 euros plus 35 euros (less than 40) for postal mode "collissimo international" . for your information ,the box is nearly 5 kilos . make quickly ,its seems incredible but i have questions about post rate for denmark and california !!!

This Guys English is far superior to my French .. He must have thought he was dealing with a right nutter............
Cheers to you Doc..avagudunbud .. I'll not crack a can , or even 4 ..not even of Guinness (necktar)... Im 'on the wagon' .....seemingly having replaced a stout addiction for a stove addiction .. Ill toast yer good elf with a cup o rosie :)

    Hey Nick

    Great stove you won. If I had seen it earlier . . . . . . . . still, never mind!

In your move from ultra-lightweight back-packing to stoves of an earlier age, I thought you were after really early cast iron ranges. So, if when your new stove arrives and you regret your latest acquisition, I could always take it off your hands. You know it makes sense!!

Nice one Nick. Bring it to Newark.

    Hey, Nick,

Yep, that was me! I had just sent a note, asking about Postage to CA, when I saw that you have already scored that little gem!! Again, congrats, and thanks, very much, for saving me from myself!! I think you did the right thing, Nick, in using the BIN function. A nice stove like that doesn't come down the pike that often, and you have to strike while the iron is hot!! ;) 8) :D Take care, and God Bless!

    Every Good Wish,
Doc Mark (Proud as punch that one of my Mates scored that fine stove!!)

    Nick,
We bid, we buy, we move on!!

I have had the exact same thing happen to me. Should I, should I not. Pace, think some more. Goto the garage. Send an e-mail to Richard about how many more stoves I don't need. Check the auction again. Check the surplus funds. Rationalize, think and then just bid and buy the darn thing !!!

Don't worry the remorse is long gone before the stove arrives. So you got one now and that one looks to be a good one. Cheers :D

    Chuck

    They are nice though

Now, after all this excitement it would be interesting to learn what use these stoves are actually meant for, I mean kitchen, boat, whatever?

The RH one is indeed from a 111 type.

The spindle and gland nut are different on the left and can't get the proper one anywhere.
I have a new set of modern spindles to put in so i need another 111 type handle.
I'll then knock up a couple of repro knobs to make it look original.

Ya'll are a shamefull lot. No self control a'tall. i have just now seen this stove and didn't have a bit of trouble rejecting it's loverly attraction. Wouldn't have a use for it in the truck anyway. Couldn't use it at home either. Wouldn't know what to do with it if i did have it. Bloody para liquid stuff stinks to high heaven. Nope i didn't even think to bid on it.

    Fine score Nick.

    Hello
I am new to this forum stuff so bare with me.
I just aquired a 523 Primus and went surfing the web to find out what yr it is and what it is worth. I came across this site and these stoves look awsome compared to mine. One thing I did notice is mine also has different fuel knobs. Mine has the same style knobs on the fuel handles as the one posted here.
