    Hello,

I’m new here, the first time I saw the Optimus 111 on the YouTube and I start falling in love with this stove, and finally I found a unfired one on eBay, is from a guy, The stove was bought new by his grandfather who was an avid outdoorsman and amassed a giant collection of antique and vintage camping equipment from all around the world. Can anyone tell me what year is this Optimus 111, thank you

Question, do you guys know how to keep these Optimus 111 clean? Because I got another 2 brand new Optimus 111 stove, 1 is black and another one is light blue again, but you can see from the pictures, the light blue fuel tank had couple spot on it, I trying to use zippo fuel to remove them but can’t, do you guys know what kind the stuff should I use to remove them, and for the black one, the fuel pump plug is hard to screw, do you guys think I can put some WD-40 on it?

You might be better leaving the spots on the brass. If you try to remove the spots, you’ll remove the lacquer, and the protection the lacquer gives to the brass.

In use the lacquer will eventually wear, but if you’re keeping them “new in box” the most I would do is give them a polish with pure beeswax furniture polish to protect the finish.

    Cheers

    Tony

The best way to keep them clean is to separate them from each other. Better send one to me.
