It look like it is Indian made.
Plastic pump knob and feets.
Doubtful overall quality.

The flame ring is similar style as Iqbal - I say as @cmb56 - it smells indian curry

 

It taste Indian to me too by the looks of it, but I'd rather go African since India is more known for spares of already existing stoves.

Perhaps Rhodesia (Nowadays known as Zimbabwe), but more likely ZAR.

 

South African Primus made by Apex. There several examples in the Gallery like this one.

Just for info - APEX, made by JPM (Johannesburg Metal Pressings) were taken over by CADAC (Commercial And Domestic Appliance Corporation) in the 1970's

 

Cadac is what came to my mind as well. A friend has one, lower quality possibly, but a right runner. He loves it.
