Hi all, i received a Juwel 21 this morning which is missing parts, how difficult will it be to find original parts please, i believe this is around the 30's going on what i've read on here so far? Thanks.
Cool find that,,, rebuilding around it may be similar to finding a lug nut to a 1958 Oldsmobile “Special”, and then filling the other bits as you find them... Never know though, you might find someone with the top half looking to sell, or to buy. I’ve A complete Juwell #1, needs a gasket kit and a pump leather at least, maybe even a new jet. It’ll light, and pumps poorly, and shoots a tall wandering yellow flame off at an odd angle... I fetched out yesterday, lit it up, worked on my colorful metaphors a while, and put it away again. Still, to quote Tyrion Lannister, "I have a tender spot in my heart for cripples and bastards and broken things.” The best of luck in finding your missing parts...
Thanks, i had to look it up as hadn't heard of them before, it was also a surprise as it came in a small joblot, it could have just as well been a Parasene or Valor etc, Yes i'll have to see what turns up, if i've got anything that fits i might just try and get it working at first and go from there, The poor thing, all it needs is a bit of love and it'll be boiling water to make coffee again soon hopefully, are they generic gaskets and pump leathers etc or specific to the brand? I've got a little Vakus stove which needs sorting, i had a quick look the other day and the pump cap is stuck solid to the external pump tube so i'll have to be careful with that, i expect the service kit for that one might not be generic either.
@abman47 It runs very well, the burners bent and it needs work on one of its legs but other than that its not bad at all, i may clean the pan supports but i think i will leave the rest as it is for the minute.
