Need help with Coleman 505

At the bottom of the pump tube there is a check valve. If it is leaking you will never get good pressure. Pump the tank and see if the check valve is leaking. You will hear the leak or you will see some fuel accumulating. You can do this by removing the pump shaft (stem) and inspecting inside. Also remember to tighten the pump stem after you pump as this will help stopping some air from escaping as the check valve usually is not 100% leak proof.

 

In both videos you have the little lever in the RUN position which you SHOULD NOT do until the stove is burning correctly w blue flames.
The lever when down lets some air into the fuel stream and helps keep it from flooding.

How many pumps are you giving it?? Does it get harder and harder to pump as you get 20 pumps into it??

 

On both videos I had the lever turned downward for a good 50-60 seconds before putting it in the run position. The output pressure seems so low that I am pretty sure that blue flames will never appear and the flame will most likely get weaker with time. It also does not become harder to pump even after 40 pumps. I am getting help from someone this saturday so I will wait until then to try anything else.

So I just got some help from Blueflame and the problem was indeed the pressure valve! I did not really know how this part worked and how to remove it so assistance in real life was very helpful.
