    Nice stove. I prefer my 8R, but that might be because it was my first backpacking stove. My 8R and 99 weigh the same. Both good stoves. Brad

    Basically same stove. I like the 99 because the lid/pan is the perfect size for ramen.
    I have a couple of 8R’s also
