The flame ring is missing - might be running a little rich (nipple hole enlarged) but I'd try the flame ring first.

Hi, this burner should run pretty good without a flame ring and like Doug, my money is on an over-size aperture on the nipple, and perhaps a little too low tank pressure.
I reckon the hole size in the nipple of this burner should be about 0.7mm, or 28thou in old money. The burner should produce about 12-15kw flat out.
    Best Regards,
    Kerophile.

The gallery ring, which the flame ring rests on is also out of alignment. Curing this aesthetically can be a problem, as it is brazed onto the burner tubes, as soldering will melt.

Also have you tried the heat and dunk method to clean out the inside of the burner ?

For my money i'd bet n air leak at the filler cap. Even with an over large nipple orfice the flame should not go out .

This was a first fire up for this stove. I will be sorting out the burner over the next few weeks. Thanks for the theories so far.
