Apologies if I have posted this to the wrong location. I have been unable to find any information on this site or elsewhere about a curious "4" (or is it an "h" ???) stamp on a Primus 71. I see no other markings on the burner or the tin aside from the usual. I have attached a couple of pics. Any ideas? Thanks.

Hi @Radog I do not know what significance the H mark has in this context.

However, here is another Primus No.71 with an “H” marking at the centre of the tank base.

    Primus 71L - age please?

Please have a read through the above thread. It is a long shot, but see if there is any date markings on the stove case.

    Best Regards,
    Kerophile.

Many thanks for the link Kerophile. Mine appears to be the same since the "4" on the bottom of my tank is likely an imperfectly stamped "H" as well. And a cleaning of the spirit cup dimple revealed 203660 - so 1960. Nothing stamped on the lid though. Many thanks to you and to Doc Mark.

Hi @Radog It is great that we now have a manufacturing date for your stove. I look forward to seeing some photos of the stove in action. These are great stoves.
    Best Regards,
    Kerophile.

@Radog The key looks interesting, with the tool end like that of a svea 123R key and with the spindle end of a 71 key.

Looks like the key they were providing with the Svea 123 in the early '70s.

Does look like a later Svea key but the spindle end looks notched like a 71 key versus the square tube typically seen on this key. 6385085B-D184-4BC1-AE04-B2967D12DB5B.jpeg
