Anyone know how long in time did the 3289 use the same pump as the 3288 square aluminum pump? I recently picked up a 3289 and it did not have the later/current plastic primus ergo pump. The 3289 came with the same pump as my 3288. Just wondering how long the 3289 had the same 3288 pump and why primus would drop the square aluminum pump for more plastic?

I have 1 3288 (Multifuel) and 1 3289 (Omnifuel) from 21012003 and 18032003 respectively with metal pumps. My next omni-fuel is from 03032005 with the Ergo pump. To help answer your question I also have 2 3278's (Varifuel) from August 2004, both with the new Ergo pumps.

The Omni-Fuel was launched in 2001 according to the Primus Website, so my guess would be 2-3 years without more data.

I thought the 3278 was the earliest of all being it does not have the lindal valve. Can the current new Primus Omnifuel titanium be fitted with the older all aluminum 3288 pump or is the connection different?

Did you mean the Omnilite Ti or the Omni-Fuel II? I do not see a Titanium Omni-Fuel listed on their website although I have seen pictures of one.

So what you are basically asking is, is the lindal valve fuel line for the ergo pump compatible with the older all metal fuel pump. Probably.

I would have to dig them up and perform a proper test to confirm, but my initial response would be probably since the pump was designed to mimic the fuel cannister.
