Welcome to CCS. Someone will be along with good info. There's quite a bit on the site about these small wick kerosene stoves.

    Welcome @cornishfisherman

It’s a kerosene (paraffin) wick stove, like a Beatrice.

Use the search engine here to look at Beatrice stoves. Your biggest issue will be whether the winder mechanism for the wick is too rusted or damaged. Don’t force it. Soak it in kerosene before trying to move the wick.

    Cheers

    Tony

    Hi

There are many methods of rust removal depending on how bad it is. There's plenty of threads on this forum that go into details. Start gently and work upwards but break the stove down as best you can before starting. Document every stage though...write down what you do, photograph and/or video the whole process.
Use plenty of penetrating oil on all of the screws before you try to take it apart. It's likely the screws are non standard so make sure you keep them safe. Be especially careful with the screen on the front of the chimney. It made of sheet mica, not glass, so it's fragile but heat resistant.

    Regards
    John

    Howdy, @cornishfisherman ,

A sad thing about many of these old stoves, is that there are few, if any, spares readily available for them. I might suggest that you visit eBay, and see about buying another stove that is similar to yours, and hopefully, use that for the parts you need. That's what many of us have to do, and hopefully, it will help you find what you are seeking.

Look here, for some good information on these old wick stoves:

"Sad Iron" Stoves from the 19th Century

I buy my wicks and parts, for my kerosene heaters, from Miles, and he's a good man, and a interesting Gent. Good luck, and God Bless!

    Every Good Wish,
    Doc
