Tony that is one very interesting stove you have. The preheater may have been designed to use kerosene for preheating but I'm probably wrong. I'm looking forward to seeing this old girl up and running. Cheers, Norman
You’re certainly right, Norman, it was, but missing an outer shroud. 1922 Primus catalogue extract, Stove Reference Library (also in 1914 Swedish language catalogue). Great find Tony. John
@Tony Press The Monitor Regal had something similar as a paraffin pre-heater, including a clever suction pump/dropper housed in the fuel filler cap/riser to transfer fuel from tank to cup. Tilley BR49 too of course had a clever fuel bleed device. Nothing so convenient for the Primus evidently, but a lovely thing nevertheless. What’s the date stamp?
Wonderful find. Certainly the departed would be pleased that their stove has gone to someone who will care for and appreciate it properly.
Great find Tony. There are good detailed photos of the Primus paraffin pre-heat system parts in this post from @z1ulike, and in a post of mine which is linked from there, though the parts as fitted to the No.100, despite appearing outwardly the same, are not fully interchangeable with the 303.
