I believe WD40 has naphtha in it, eneyway it smells good. By the way it got its name because it was the water dispersant the 40th one tried. Bit of trivia, and it seems to work. Cheers Rob
Of the 30 or so stoves I fettled last year a leaking NRV on a 111B was the only incident. At least yours failed before priming. Mine failed several minutes into priming and whoosh. Luckily I was outdoors and had a fire blanket in my nearby Lantern store. Not that the fire blanket was all I needed, I emptied an entire powder fire extinguisher on it.

Back in the day, it was originally marketed as "Rocket WD 40" - and the reason for the name ties back to its development. The company which came up with it were working on a product for water displacement fluid for use on rockets - hence the 'WD' - and, after a shedload of attempts at making one work, their 40th recipe turned out to be the goods - hence the '40'! @itchy - As for it working on fish bait; I don't know if it's still the case, but in the early days, at least, one of the ingredients was fish oil Gunner
I passed through Clarkdale. I go through Jerome, when I leave Prescott, and pass through Cottonwood. Prescott is where they filmed Billy Jack. I came really close to moving there in the 90s.
“Oldtown” Cottonwood was the locale where some of the stars of the ‘40’s movies stayed when they wanted to be discrete w/ their affairs… A local motel has/had a room named for “The Duke” when he stayed there with his “Angel and the Badman” female co-star …
I've never seen Angel and the Badman; may have to check it out. Looking it up I see that Wayne's co-star was Gail Russell, whom I knew about from her role in Seven Men From Now, a Randolph Scott movie, and a real favorite flick of mine. So, following up, I find that the affair was rumored, though perhaps not proven. That Wayne was a good friend of hers is evidently well-established. He is said to have gotten her the role in Seven Men From Now. She was a very troubled woman, and tragically died at 36 from the consequences of severe and advance alcoholism. That movie was one of five or six Scott movies directed by Budd Boetticher in the mid- late 1950s. They are well-known to fans of classic Westerns, of which I am one. The Boetticher movies are all good, but Seven Men From Now is the best. The cast includes, besides Russell, Lee Marvin, in one of his earliest roles. He is great in it.
