Are the instructions in Japanese on the stove itself or on accompanying literature/box? I can't make it out on your photos.

Yeah, I can tell it's Japanese on the tank label.

It appears that stove is/was an Asian market model as it crops up on some Thai and Malaysian sites, although availability is hit or miss. Do they still actually make it or are they just offloading old stock? I tend to think if it was still for sale in Asia that it would have gone there and not a US clearance outlet.

On clearance at $80? I'd probably still get one at that but it would cost me over $300 to drive the nearest outlet several states away.

All the instructions on the label are in Japanese. There are a few English words here and there on box including MADE IN USA in large block letters. There is no instruction manual in the box. There is a little tag under the burner (visible in picture) in English reminding you to pump it up 30 times after lighting.

This stove is still listed on the Coleman Japan website. My guess is they still make it. A silver version shows up on the Coleman websites of several other countries but I think that one is dual fuel. A few months back I picked up a single mantle CF lantern at the same store. Goes by Model 286. Oh, by the way, the entire store was 30% off so I think I did OK on the stoves.
