@bp4willi It is a new burner (never used). The green colour will be from the brass being fired for the first time. My guess is some form of copper compound from the brass having sat unused for a few decades. (@kerophile ?). The green disappeared after a few minutes. Cheers Tony
Hi @Tony Press the Green flame seen after lighting stove after a long period idle, or after work such as cleaning is due to copper salts decomposing to copper ions in the flame. The characteristic colour produced by copper is green. Best Regards, Kerophile.
A Phoenix Precise Backpacker with new SRV pip and fuel tank gasket, it doesn't seem to run as hot as an 8r but it works. The box has a sale price of $19.99, I can't make out the store name though.
