Hi, I always enjoy this wonderful site. Recently I noticed that primus #402, which I happen to own, has not been posted yet. So I decided to post it. It has 2-1/4 pints steel tank, collapsible pan support legs, silent burner with shut off valve（R121 burner). It has no date code but you can see this model at 1922 Primus catalogue. Please mind that when I got this #402, it didn't have pan support legs and I added the legs of primus #221. Shinzo

What a great stove. Is the tank made of steel? Normally the brass tanks are engraved not embossed with raised lettering. Having an adjustable burner seems like a real advantage. Ben
@gkpllantern @presscall I assume from the cut outs on the edge of the burner bell that this is another model that can be used as silent or roarer, by swapping out the silent burner for a cast burner plate, like the Primus 100. This model has the advantage of a regulating burner. Super blue flame! Dean
That’s right. @gkpllantern A question, please. Your stove has a replaceable jet nipple but has the burner bell/flame plate/converter cap of a Primus 100. Is it a 0.23mm jet? Its part number is R387. Part number for a No.1 stove roarer burner, or No.5 silent is R390, so it’s different.
Christer, I'm sorry I overlooked Neil's post. John, I don't know if the nipple is 0.23mm because I have no way to measure the size of its orifice. I'm sorry I couldn't answer your question. I don't know if it's helpful, but I haven't replaced the nipples since I got this stove. Shinzo
