Hammers been dropped, fuse lit and is being blown on by others also!!

Just contacted PayPal and opened dispute against the Frauds at Xdvson, and Lo and Behold....they're being investigated and will eventually have all ties with PayPal nipped and tucked!! They've obviously been making waves at PP which will soon come to a crashing halt, hopefully with their other company ties also, and be forever gone. 1st round for refund approximately 10 or more days as per PP.

Honestly not sure as of yet on other stoves, hooked on the 8R due to ease of fuel use in the hopes of a trip with son. I do have a Tomshoo gasifier and Trangia, which go surprisingly well together as I found out during power losses here in TX recently.

I'm still doing my "homework" basically in regards to other stoves. The size and duration of stove burn time (still unsure) are what attract me the most to the 8R. I do respect the amount of info stored here and hope to put it to good use in due time.
On a different note, and for fun, I've acquired a piece of stainless flue that I "may" attempt to make a rocket stove with. I shall come into mine in due time, and study what is in the Libraries in preparation. Cheers!

the 8r is a fine stove and here in New Zealand at least it was the stove of choice for many years. (possibly decades) here it was more popular than the 123 partly because larger hiking groups often cooked communally and the 8r was more stable with an 8 pint pot on top

 

The box stoves are excellent for ease of set up and use

 

What was the price of that 8R?
Was it worth the risks?

Price on website $51.69, nothing more, nothing less. That's why I fell for it hook, line and sinker. Also, began using this thread because of rush to get info from, and to, the Forum regarding worries and subsequent issues with the "purchase".

I'm also enamored of the box stoves exactly because of the apparent use of ease.

 

It is good that you joined the forum and spread the word.
If I had come across that web site at night when I am cruising internet sites and imbibing at the same time, I may have made a multiple purchase, the stoves and prices are so inviting.
The 8r's are a great stove I have several along with a Shinabro clone, wait until you stumble across an Optimus 111, then you will hooked for sure.

 

Around here it is sort of like The Pusher Man. The first one is free. Then stove pox hits you. "Just one more."

Glad to have given notice of these “thieves”, even if i’ve fallen for trap temporarily. I’ve seen the 111’s but believe an 8R would maybe suit me better, hopefully.

I do have the “pox”, but for slightly different “stoves”.

 

The starter, Sunbeam, is from 88-89. Small Oklahoma Joe’s is from mid/late 90’s. Oklahoma Joe’s Longhorn (my baby) is from 2002, upon return from Afghanistan Tour. Aussie is from 2017-ish for use in parks etc. Lastly is the Expert, from Walmart, Christmas 2020, for the Mrs. who also uses the Aussie for burgers or fajitas .

Yessir, you could say that ! When in Rome...., the sunbeam was for initial convenience for outings to the park. I slowly entered into the Texas pastime of grilling, BBQ and eventually smoking meats, as is done here. After all I've been here over 30 yrs, so somethings going to "rub" off, pun intended. It's the second most thing that calms my nerves, aside from being isolated on a park trail .

 

FYI all, PayPal just advised of full refund on my behalf from those fraudulent so&so's website!! The hunt is on again for my desired stove/s, collectors bug right?!?
Appreciate all the previous input and support, and hope to be able to post something interesting & worthwhile in the future.
