    Great weekend all!!
    As I had mentioned in another thread, I officially subscribed as of today to the ranks of CCS! I received my 1st stove from a gentleman in Hawaii yesterday, and although it's not cleaned up yet, I am attaching my 1st official ownership pictures for the Forum.
    Once evening arrives, today or tomorrow, I will add video of lighting, along with what I understand to be the custom of preparing tea or coffee. In my case it will be Lavazza coffee in an official Italian mocha! My wife taught me well :)!

    @Sleepnrkn

    That’s a fine “first stove”. I hope your seals are good so your coffee is successful.

    Which Lavazza do you use?

    Welcome...
    As user of PT-1 - I Can Tell You - that stove is ready to boiling half kg of patatoe's /mean 30 min of boiling/...
    Every "one pot dinners" could be done...
    BUT - You need to know - "relation - between pot size, time, temperature"...
    Check SRV, and control tank temperature.

    @Sleepnrkn.

    Hi & Welcome to CCS, two good decisions you;ve made about stoveing, joining CCS
    & buying the 8r.I bought 2 8r stoves, first
    In 1959, the second in 1960. Both are as original, seals have been regularly replaced, & the stoves are still working as new, with no problems, even when in the beginning, I ran them on Two Stroke fuel
    from the tank of my Vespa scooter, BAD
    idea, but the stoves survived. Enjoy CCS
    & your new stove. My BEST regards.
    Optimust. :)

    Thanks everyone for the "warm" welcome, pun intended!!! Everything went well last nite with the lighting of the stove as I had already dismantled it to check everything I could, beginning with the SRV. Had a hell of a time looking into separating the fuel tank from wick section, but got it done.
    Now I'm trying to figure out how to include the videos into Forum, as I was unable to do so from my cell phone.

    @CW believe me when I say that The first steps was something I reviewed a few times before lighting stove, thanks!

    Congratulations on your acquisition! You are on this forum so I am positive you will enjoy your new cooking apparatus. 8R's are a a lot of fun to use. You may as well commence in the building of shelves now!
