    Your daughter is wrong.
My daughter once expressed the same sentiment when she was worried about affording college. I suggested she apply for scholarships.

Congratulations to her and to you!

Yes, mine was not slowed down by my statement (and I did assist her with housing and such). She got a free-ride merit scholarship to University of California at Santa Barbara, and subsequently two masters degrees. Her second masters was (mostly) paid for by the State of California, because she took a post at a school in a disadvantaged neighborhood. So happily my stove addiction did not ruin her life completely.

My son thinks I don't have enough but also that I have the wrong types of stove.

If he had his way all my brassies would be replaced by je* b*i!s. Trangias are about the only things we agree on.

Time to raise the white flag , think she got you there. Comfort yourself with the mental image of the faces of the nursing home staff as you pack out the tin boxes and the paraffin bowser backs up to your room window.

Hi @Surveyor I reckon that if your daughter saw the prices that No.12 cookers are achieving on Ebay she might be more impressed.
    Best Regards,

    Richard,
So many points of view on different facets of stoves made me smile.
However, trying to be serious, you appear to have overlooked one thing.
Your issue is not the number of stoves you have, but the small size of the table on which they stand!
Get a bigger table and the problem is solved. You may find you have sufficient space to sneak in another stove or ten without it looking cramped.

Thanks for the comments, and no you havent seen my sheds, one looks more like a QM store and to get to things I have to take bits out.

I have started making a crate to store side my side a stove and cooking set from a pallet, will start another thread on that, got all the cutting done just the assembly, been at the DIY store for final bits, hopefully comes out okay and makes stacking them a bit easier

Could you take a piece of paper and pen (remember them?) and sit down and write a list of all your stoves and lanterns, without looking? Hmmm

I think I have changed my stove shelves at least four times, thinking after each I was good. I have only acquired one old stove this year. So far. One side and half the other side of my garage hold stoves, lanterns and as of last July, lamps.

    @BradB

I feel embarrassed but I could easily, being at the phone at the South Pole, list by name and position on the shelves my 600 displayed items ahahah :)

Never considered myself as a collector. I don't have the time / patience to curate anything so, unless we can add user to the start of this list, I guess I'll have to accept I'm a hoarder.
