Can anyone ID this oven? Double wall construction and two shelves. About same size a coleman . Thanks in advance, Dar yl sunny SoCal
No idea of the manufacturer but really loving the pictures. I hope you bought it. Baking on stove tops is great. From my experience, it is harder to find double wall in ovens now
@Daryl That’s a good one. Temperature gauge is a nice touch. No such refinement with my Falks (British) but it still turns out a decent loaf. John
Thank you and pass a thanks to your friend . Looked up Milcor vintage oven on Ebay and there is one stamped Milcor with a different door layout, but looks to be same maker. Will go with Milcor for now. @presscall Nice looking combo you have working there. Your oven is in great condition too. Nice rise on your bread takes a lot of heat to do that. thanks
Just got back from another 3 night camping trip and used my oven again. I used to know the maker. MILCOR sounds familiar. This oven has got to be one of the best items in our camping kit of goodies. We've done just about everything that could be baked in an indoor oven outside. Also have one of those folding Coleman ovens and while it works and stows away smaller we found that we had to wrap it in tin foil to hold the heat in. On this one we have a 1/2" piece of aluminum on the bottom and I picked up some ceramic briquettes to put on top. Once heated you can really dial down the burner output as the aluminum plate and briquettes really help hold the heat. Once it gets to the middle of the BAKE on the dial its good to go and I hardly make any adjustments. No idea what temperature that is but it seems to bake everything there so we're good with that. Give it a go you will be pleasantly surprised. Alex
@MrAlexxx Scary good look food you have made in that creepy looking oven. Your heat distribution/ retention setup looks like it is a winner. I don't think its just me ,but I think the oven manufactures where after the 'Eerie' look.
LOL. I agree it is not the most enduring thing. Might be straight out of the movie Frankenstein. I'm going to rename it the "Frankenoven." Regardless, it has certainly been one of our most used pieces. Alex
