I unscrewed the nipple and took a photo of the inside.
Do you think it is normal that the hole is not centered ?

    Thank you.

Hi, we don't see much inside but if it's is like a 123, it should look like this.

    1939 Primus 71 is also slightly off-centre.

    Ok so it is normal.
Now my next little problem is to find a pricker. I can’t see any pinhole when I look at carefully the jet burner. I read that the Primus 71 could have 2 sizes of jet burner hole (0,23 mm or 0,3... mm). So I suppose it would be better to find a pricker of 0,2mm first in order not to damage the pinhole if it is bigger ?!

    @JP2

I can see the offset hole in Yannick’s photos.

Concerning the jet size of this Primus 71 ( from 1946), I wonder which one is the one to order if I had to order a new jet burner.
I read a text from Kerophile referring to the Primus catalogues. Depending of the production year the jet burner size is different. So 0,23 mm or 0,32 mm for a 1946 Primus 71 ?? Here is my question.

7BF89962-E33B-49C5-B73B-CB6D84145423.jpeg It seems the gasket was hard so I decided to remove it. Impossible to remove it in one part. Now I have to change it for sure...
It appears the diameter of the gasket is around 15 mm and its thickness 2 or 3 mm ? Somebody could confirm this ?
I really would like to use this stove.

    Thank you,

    Yannick

    Bonsoir Yannick

My 1948 Primus 71 seems to have the same filler cap as yours. I replaced the washer/gasket with a "Type C" viton one from the Fettlebox which I measure at 16.0mm outer diameter, 3.0mm hole and slightly over 2mm (about 2.2mm) thick. That one seems to fit perfectly.

    Hope that helps.

    Best, bonne soirée,

    Christina

    Hello again

could you tell me if the jets burners sold on Ebay by Juliands are suitable for the Primus 71 ?

    Thanks

I can’t vouch for the nipple/jet/nozzle from Juliands, but the “2502 Type 2”from Fogas.se is correct for Optimus 71:

Thank you Tony. I will see if I can order one.
It seems there is no English version on their site ?

Use Google and click translate or send an email to conny@fogas.se.

On base camp site, you have old primus 71 with 2500 jet.
