Hello, Bought this stove recently at an auction. I believe it is a 96 in quite poor shape, or rather, dirty state. Lots of soot, stains and what not. When looking at the burner (not a lipstick) I noticed a part that I have never seen before. See attached pictures. Can anyone tell me what it is and its function? As it's not brass but nickel plated - can anyone advise or link to suitable cleaning/polishing instructions? Regards// Erik
Thinking of its name, but usually used on silent burners to light the burner when alcohol in priming cup burns out as it should have a flame at the top long enough to light the burner without another match. Duane
I think the stove may be a 210. Model number should be marked on the tank under the dirt. Try a mild soap and water cleanse with a soft cloth before doing anything else. If you want to then use a metal cleaner or polish non-ammonia based cleaners are recommended.
The tube is your "automatic ignition device"! There should be an asbestos wick in the bottom ( the 'wide' part) to soak up some alcohol when pre-heating. When all alcohol is consumed, a small flame should still burn at the top of the tube so you get instant ignition when you start pumping.
