of retirement. Yesterday put the finish on 30 years of doing computer security for the U.S. Navy. Now the only thing I'll use my computer for is balancing my checkbook, reading email and browsing the wonderful GPA forums like this one. Had the paint curing in the oven overnight so I went out to the shop this morning and put this little beauty together and fired it up. 500s and 500As are probably my favorite stoves. This one is an oddity in that there is no date stamp anywhere. It has all the marks of an early US made stove. It lit right up and purrs along from simmer to full roar. What's not to like?
Yup. All the normal roll stamp stuff on the side of the fount, just no dates. Rectangular ink stamp on baseplate with model and generator numbers.
Happy retirement! I spent the last several years of my career doing computer security on mil computer systems. (I was a software developer before that.) Since retirement I’ve never looked back. ….Arch
Lovely job - well done ! Looks better than my own 500. Is that a new generator ? Reckon I'll fire mine up for lunch tomorrow. Also, we had Craftsman sewing machines here too. I passed mine on last year, need something more heavy duty. I think there was a tie-up with Pinnock machines. Cheers. Paul.
@Paul Aslanides Original generator or at least the one that was on it when it came to me. Appeared to be lightly used though and it got a polish with a vey fine bristled wire wheel.
