What to do with a msr wisperlite

Update on the wisperlite. Failure. Couldn’t get the wire back through after I welded it up. Wasn’t surprised

Did you fill it with sand first?

 

No. Never heard of that one. Common practice is to backfill with argon which I did but the very small diameter and thin pipe wasn’t a good mix.

 

Fantastic, I think you should pat yourself on the back, you made an admirable effort, surely if you could have a few goes at it, you would get there in the end, great to see some love for these little beasts

 

I sometimes have trouble getting the cable back into the tube, maybe keep trying and you might succeed.

 

I’m sure there was soot in the crack which definitely wouldn’t help, I’ll have another goo at the wire at some point. But in the meantime I’m playing with its replacement, a dragonfly, nice stove.

 

Even better, I just bought a used dragonfly recently and am really enjoying it - very easy to preheat and clean, hope you are enjoying yours too
