Now that's a pretty nifty pot holder. Maybe the felt case should have a little lock so your buddies won't 'borrow' the holder. REI used to sell a pot holder that had the jaws and the handle shaped identically to the image best I can tell, but it was not anodized and no holes in the handle. It was stamped with the REI logo. I'm still using mine but I must admit this one is tempting!
No. (Maybe that's the next generation...?) It's an ordinary Trangia pot gripper that's been done up uniquely. An earlier version of the Trangia gripper (decades ago) didn't have the lightening holes...
Thanks @Odd. I love the idea, will probably stick with my plain grips...but... The photo seems to show a buildup of what looks like paint peeling above the hinge, as if this was a painted surface and there was not quite enough clearance when the jaws were opened. Have you seen a physical copy, and can you confirm the actual surface has the advertised characteristics? I can imagine all kinds of reasons the photo might have a glitch that the real version doesn't.
Well, that's more money wasted... Although mainly for the Woolpower slip as a more elegant anti-rattle solution!
That's it. I'm not saying it's an issue. I'm not saying I'm seeing it straight. I'd just like someone who has seen one to say it looks great. Like I say, a number of possible explanations, including a compression glitch interacting with the reflections.
Oh, sorry - I didn't see your questions / discussions until today... Here's some more pictures of my gripper - as all anodizing it's on the very surface only and one can see an aluminium coloured line where the upper handle stops opening when reaching the surface of the lower handle part. Doesn't bother me - this gripper will be easy to spot in both snowy and ordinary green conditions... Cheers, /Odd
