Messaged a evilbay seller over his two burner Coleman stove listing, telling him it wasn't a kerosene model I recognized and didn't use kerosene, but white gas or auto gas. He told me it meant the two burners and unsafe to use gasoline. Duane
And an Ebay seller would never intentionally adopt misleading jargon to make a sale to a naive buyer.
One of the best buys I made on ebay was a Coleman 202 lantern that was listed as propane. I went by the picture. No other bids. $30 for a 202 in nice condition ain't bad. Must have been one of those 'unusual' times.
I got my Juwel 41 on eBay. It was listed as a Juval lamp. I don't even remember how I was able to find it. Anyway, a $6 bid plus shipping and the addition of a BD flameplate and now it's my avatar.
I could message stove and lantern sellers on the bay all day with their stating "kerosene". Goes back I guess to wick kerosene lanterns and description carried over to pressure lanterns. Duane
Many lanterns are easy enough to convert to kerosene with the correct jet/cleaning needle combo and pre-heat spirit cup. I've done this with Coleman 242 and 280 series finding them far more reliable on kero. Stoves are another matter. I love the idea of a Coleman kero 413 or 425. I've considered modifying a generator to incorporate a preston loop situated over the primary burner. This would satisfy vaporization after a substantial preheat but not overall air/fuel mix, jet size or mix chamber characteristics. Until then I choose NOT to build a better mouse trap and use my brass beauties.
I just watched a YouTube video from Jiujitsu2000 on running kerosene through an old 425B stove.. I wouldn't bother because kero prices in Australia are way higher than petrol (gasoline.) And white gas is priced like liquid gold!
