Nice! That must be one of the latest models. First it looked like specially made model... Pump knob looks like turned from one piece of brass. Control knobs are like made from late 111C control knob by putting screw through it and attaching piece of tube to the screw to make coupling burner spindle (or maybe it's one piece from hex end to burner spindle coupling point). No "three crown" stamp (at least not visible), so this is consumer market model. Leaflet has email address, so it's from 'Internet era' maybe from late 90's? Maybe @Staffan Rönn would have some information when 155 (and 154) production ended. Also it would be interesting to know if last models were made is Sweden or somewhere else.
The control knob is two piece connected together with siverbrazing. it is made of solid brass and not tubes.
I quickly checked one 155 that has "pull type" pre-heater levers (no L-slot on pre-heater levers). It has stamped model nr. and "Made in Sweden" text on upper right corner of top surface. Pre-heater levers have conical knobs made of metal so I think that it could be version before plastic knobs appeared to 155's pull type pre-heater levers. I guess that pull type levers were used on pre-heaters first and then they changed it to L-slot type. Is it that brown knobs (pre-heaters and control) are first and them came black ones? I think that I have seen brown ones in 155s' that have stamped (and maybe also sticker) type information. Black ones I have seen only with type information that is on sticker.
@trebor That is nice info! Looks that they have had plastic knobs for 111C control spindle that has very large diameter (~Ø10 mm) spindle. Then they have made "chunky bolt/screw end" that fits into hole on plastic knob and then brazed brass tube into "chunky bolt/screw end". A bit 'we have some parts' + 'let's make missing parts' as a result 'we get stove that works' style of manufacturing. Nothing to complain in that, but style looks quite much different from all other 155s' that I have seen.
It is different from the others. I have been so lucky too have two of these in my collection and I have seen a couple more like my two.
On Finnish market I have seen only 155s' with pre-heaters. Maybe for boat use they imported only pre-heater models here? Recently I saw one 155 for sale without pre-heaters but it was ex Swedish military stock. Something like 15 years ago loads and loads of Swedish military stuff came to sale here and now some of that stuff surfaces for sale again.
Sorry for being a bit late on the ball... The 155C replaced the previous 155W in 1997 and lived a fairly short life, ending around 2000/2001. This model was only produced in small batches. Basically the death of the 155 range was when the Swedish Armed Forces stopped purchasing the model for their small field kitchen sets. I don't know exactly when the last military delivery took place, memory guesstimate is 1993~1995-ish. The last production run of the 154W (single burner) was some time in the first half of the 1990's. They were sold in small annual quantities until stock was exhaust around 1999/2000. The 154/155 range was always made in Sweden, but in a few different plants. The label of @kerophile 's stove above shows it was manufactured in the plant of Alde, a subsidiary of Optimus during a period in the 1970's/80's. Alde is a manufacturer of propane fuelled caravan heaters.
Hi @Staffan Rönn . Many thanks for the manufacturing information and time period for my Op.155 stove. Best Regards, Kerophile.
