Hello, First time posting, but my go to for all stove & lantern information. Just purchased this 1933 Nickeled 221 stove. All in all not too bad for being 89 years old. However it is missing the fill cap. Just wondering what other stove fill cap will fit? If there is a source for that fill cap? Have a 51 Primus and it is not even close in size. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Hi @Paddywonka I assumed a 210 would fit but checked the reference gallery and the filler cap changed in 1935 to be like the 210 previously the reserve cap screwed into the top of the filler cap. There is one like yours in the gallery fitted with the winged filler cap used on primus 1,5 and several others so that might be an option till you find the right one. If you measure the filler upstand diameter that would help others suggest options

Firestarter, Tried my 210 AN 1949 and it is just too small. However my Parasene 230(not sure if that is correct model) winged cap did fit. Measuring with a cheap plastic caliper, the upright fill bung, appears to be about 23.5 mm in diameter. while The inside of the Parasene fill cap measures about 22.5, it is a decent fit. Here in the States Primus style stoves and bits to fit them are near impossible to find. So if I can narrow it down to a specific fill cap from another popular stove, could order a working replacement. Would be great to get this 221 up & running again, without using a borrowed fill cap.
Kerophile thanks for the link. New to Primus style stoves, but from what I gather these 221s are not too common. What are the years of production? Have not seen a post War example. Primes 221 Cap.jpg

Hi that’s interesting my Parasene caps don’t fit my primus 5s well but primus 5s do fit my Parasene they are slightly bigger so I’m guessing most 2 pint stoves’ filler caps will fit tried a monitor and an RM and both fit a Parasene but not a primus but a primus will fit them. I hope that is some help I don’t know what is easily available over there.RM and monitor appear to be 23mm internal diameter

I also recall that a primus 5 and 1 cap will fit an Optimus and a Bluflam 2 pint stoves.

Primus 221 Fill Cap.jpg Found a P4376 Slotted lid, from a late Primus #1 fill cap from Base Camp that fits. So now will be able to pressurize the tank & give it a good fettle. Will continue to look for the proper 221L cap, that has the reserve cap parked on top of the fuel filler cap when not in use. Is there a proper name for this style? Will post photos of the 221 when done & up and running again. Thanks all for the help.

Glad you got one that fits!
