Well Easy If you went though my personal collection you would not find a better Stovette. I have not got the packing box. Did you get the steel box as well? I think that stove should be in the Handi Museum.
No metal case I'm afraid.I'm a sheetmetal worker by trade so will make one,I need one for a pattern but may have to go off a picture. Where is the Museum Albert, your place? What was your connection, did you own Handi or were you an employee?
Gents, that piece would also look nice in my make shift, personal, boon to the wife, museum. Looks wonderful and I am sure it will burn great. Are those Hipo burners that are on it? Rob
Hey, Easy, I, too, have a fantastic Handi Stovette. And, a great stove it is, too!! Mine has the green steel box, and if you'd like I'll take measurements, and lots of photos, then send them to you. Just say the word, and I'll get on it. Sweet Bride and I have been out of town for a week, or so, and are leaving again, day after tomorrow. But, I can take the photos and such upon our return, which will be next Monday. Give me a shout, if you wish this info and the photos. Congrats on your Handi Stovette! Great stove! Take care, and God Bless! Every Good Wish, Doc Mark
Yes please mark that would be great. I had taken a pic of the burners,so here...Patria brand.HTH |imgRemoved|
I recently found (and bought) a Sea Swing stove built with a Hipolito #2 that has the identical burner cap with the "PATRIA MADE IN PORTUGAL" lettering on it. Gerry
Rob Handi put a lot of different silent type burners on there stoves. Perticualy in the later years. Hipo, Companion, Primus, Darlton, Lanray, and the list goes on. I can't recall seeing a silant type burner stamped Handi. Early in the years the roares were branded Handi. But these could of been made in Sweden. Hay Easy These tin boxes were optional extra. Come visit and get a tin box from me. I could do with a chat. If you want it as a pattern take it home with you, It can be returned any time. If you wish. If you don't want to return it, you keep it. I have 2 or 3 spare. Yep the museum is at my place. If you are tall you will hit your head on lights. If you are clumsy you will trip over stoves. Well not that bad. My conection with Handi Works (in the begining) was simply, I grew up using Handi Products. 6 or so years ago I bought the name and remaing stock. To save it for our grand children. The owner at that time told me he was going to close the doors and there would be no more parts sold. So I broke my bank and now this is it. To contact me Click on the envelope below send me an email and I will give you details on how to find me , ring me , or just to send an email.
Good Morning, Easy, Albert, and All, This morning, I dug out my own Handi Stovette, and found something that I'd forgotten about. It has a bag of spares!! In fact, it has two spare parts for all things needed for the stove, and also one of those plastic spirit bottles. All this was wrapped in a page from an Australian newspaper, and then stuffed in a plastic lunch bag sack. I was pretty happy to see all those spares, I'll tell you! The burners on my Handi Stovette, are made in Portugal, and marked as are Easy's burners. But, the spare silent outer cap was made by Hipolito, which is interesting. Fun, that's for sure! Easy, it looks like Albert has made you an offer that would be very hard to refuse! Were I in your place, I'd be hot-footing it over to his place, pronto!! But, should you need the measurements, and some photos of my Handi's metal case, my offer still stands. Actually, I'd like to grab Sweet Bride, and book two tickets down to visit you and Albert!!! Someday, that WILL happen, of that, you can be certain! Take care, and God Bless! Every Good Wish, Doc Mark
Curious that the Handi single and twin burners turn up overseas. I have never seen one below the Queensland border. NSW is two tank Companion and one tank Aladdin country. Laurence
Thanks mark,I've contacted Albert and obtained his address. He lives a fair way out in the sticks so I'm trying to get there.
