I was about to start on the fettling of my PTC Primus 100 when I noticed a split in the riser where the inner cap of the burner goes. Will this cause a potential problem with under burn or the stove not working properly? Or do I have to find someone to braze it up for me to make the stove work. I have neither the skills or tools to do sil-brazing.
@gnome That part is not usually referred to as the riser, but... It was made like that from the start and will not affect the function of your stove. Best regards Tony
Agreed. My guess it’s to prevent the inner cap locking in place after several firings, a sort of expansion joint.
I've got a few like that, fire ahead, enjoy the flame, don't worry about the gap. it is supposed to be there. Please show us what you cook with it. I am in debit and need to show plenty of stoves in use to get back to credit. Maybe Kiwi "tucker" needs a bit of a nudge Whose going the quickest Kiwi to the draw?
