I have a 425e with a bent generator, has anybody had any luck with a used generator? The tank is nice but I hate to buy a new generator due to the cost. Where would be a good place to find one?
Unless it's so bent you can't line it up, it'll probably work just fine. If not, maybe you can heat it with a torch and gently bend it back, keeping in mind that there's a threaded rod inside. I don't know what the current price of a generator is, but yeah, parts are getting a bit harder to find so prices are going up. If you do need a generator and a new one is expensive, I suggest hitting the yard sales for another stove and robbing what you need. I think you may find a whole 425 stove for under $10, more likely it'll be around $5.
It was bent on the threads so it was hard to unscrew and ended up breaking off. I was able to get the threads out with a tight screwdriver. There is no lid on the stove so I will just keep it for parts. I am going to see if I can rig the g/a valve to work on my Prentiss Wabers P 4522. I was able to get the original out of the tank and the threads on each end are broken off. There's were made without a fitting up top, just threads. I saw the paperwork for parts and it looks like it had a fitting on the bottom. A weird design compared to Coleman.

Thanks, as a side note, I picked up a Coleman 228J unopened lantern today at my second garage sale of the year. Over 40 years old and never opened. Turned down a 6/79 propane stove but may look at it Sunday if the sale is still on .
